A former world champion duathlon, Bart Aernouts (05/06/1984) has been steadily expanding his triathlon schedule since 2009. That year, he won the OD races of Geel, Bruges and Knokke. 2010 brought the first big international wins, including the Alanya ETU Cup and the IM 70.3 Antwerp, his first half distance victory. In 2011, he won the IM 70.3 races of Antwerp, Syracse and the Pocono Mountains. 2012 will see Bart complete his transition to long distance triathlon, including his first full Ironman. His main goal for 2012: a top result in the world championships Ironman 70.3 in Las Vegas.
